| A typical trainer profile: |
| Native speaker of English or equivalent level University degree (or equivalent) Recognized TEFL qualification (min. CELTA or equivalent, DELTA preferred) Reasonable PC skills (MS Office suite) A committed, professional attitude to the work and to training & managing the client 5 years experience in business English training A track record of tailoring training to meet a participant’s specific needs A technical/ commercial background prior to EFL Interest in developing as a trainer A knowledge of German is an advantage |

The trainer is involved in a full range of training and on-the-job support. |
| Typical tasks of the trainer include: |
| placement testing: using the TARGET system (based on the Common European Framefork) extensive classes: during normal office hours. e.g. a regular 2 hour session per week at all levels. workshops: with selected personnel on particular aspects of work. e.g. meetings, negotiations, presentations, letter-writing. These workshops can be of varying duration, from 1 hour to a full day. They may be regular or ad hoc. On-the-job training: this is practical training in English communication during working time. The trainer responds to individual requests for assistance in letter-writing, proof reading, preparing presentations and designing their accompanying transparencies, preparing and making telephone calls etc. The trainer may also be asked to attend meetings and negotiations as a silent observer to give subsequent feedback. Building materials: which are client-specific and based on situations that participants typically encounter at work. |

The priorities for the training are determined by the Department Head(s), and it is then the trainer’s responsibility to translate these specifications into a program which takes into account the particular features of the client’s situation. |
| Support & development: |
| Trainer support (e.g. materials, and trainer development) is provided via TARGET’s Program Manager, and through contact with Target trainers in other locations. In addition, all new employees participate in an intensive boot camp (3 days) and have the opportunity of joining quarterly trainer development seminars. A company-wide trainer day runs every December. |

| Remuneration: | |
| The contract is based on a 40 hour working week (involving training, observation, preparation and administration) and includes 30 days paid holiday. Employment is offered, initially, in the form of a two-year contract. Delta-qualified trainers receive a higher starting rate. A bonus is payable upon the successful completion of the contract. |
| Help in finding accommodation is provided, as well as advice on the legal requirements of living and registering in Germany. | |
