German Road Signs with Helping Verbs
Driving in Germany is not too challenging but some road signs are different to other countries. Some describe what drivers must do, others what drivers mustn’t or cannot do and other signs show what drivers can do.
- Must: Means that something is mandatory/obligatory; the driver has no choice
- Can: Shows that something is possible; the driver can choose to do it or not.
- Must not / cannot: For rules and regulations, both show that something is not allowed and is forbidden.
