Does the idea of speaking in front of people make your mouth go dry? Well keep reading &#8230;<br \/>\nIf you are nervous about presenting in English, making effective presentation introductions is especially important.\u00a0 Effective presentation introductions will help your audience know what to expect and it will help you feel confident. Once you\u2019ve started well it is easier to keep going \u2013 and don\u2019t forget that your audience is there to listen to what you have to say and not your English.<\/p>\n<h3>The 3Ps<\/h3>\n<p>A colleague shared this simple technique with me, and it always works. What is the <strong>purpose<\/strong> of your presentation?<\/li>\n<li>What are the steps in your presentation? What is the <strong>process<\/strong> you will follow?<\/li>\n<li>Why should your audience listen to you?\u00a0 What is their <strong>payoff<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t matter if you are introducing your team, presenting a process or giving an update on a project \u2013 the structure is the same. The 3Ps help you remember this structure, and if it helps you when you are nervous, why not use the three keywords?<\/p>\n<div  class='av_promobox av-479rdp-b351f4079d6d22fd62f6806002f83ee4 avia-button-no  avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_hr '><div class='avia-promocontent'><\/p>\n<h3>An example of the 3Ps in action<\/h3>\n<p><em>\u201cGood afternoon and thank you for coming.\u00a0 The <strong>purpose<\/strong> of my presentation today is to update you on the factory acceptance test.\u00a0 The <strong>process<\/strong> I will follow is to first review the agreed schedule, then talk about the tools we are using and finally we will look at two problems we have found and how we will solve them.\u00a0 This will take me 10 minutes.
